MeowMap — Community map of stray cat sightings

About MeowMap

MeowMap is a free, open community map of stray cat sightings. Anyone can report a cat they have seen, and anyone can browse those reports without signing in.

The map currently holds 29 community-reported sightings, 14 of them filed in the last 30 days.

The map shows every reported sighting as a pin. Opening a pin shows what was seen: how many cats, their coat colour and breed, whether they wore a collar, and when the report was made.

What a sighting is

A sighting is a single report of one or more stray cats at one place and time. Each sighting has its own shareable page.

• A sighting records where cats were seen, how many, and when.
• A sighting may carry a status such as spotted, being fed, needs help, TNR done or adopted.
• A sighting may also carry a drawn area, marking where a group of cats roams rather than a single point.
• Sightings can be filtered by status, coat colour, breed and date.

How to report a cat

Choose a location on the map, add a photo and a description, optionally draw the area the cats roam, and submit. Reporting is free and needs no account.

Reporting and privacy

Reports can be filed with an account or left anonymous. The reporter's identity is never published on a sighting page or a preview card.
